Appearance:
He is of a medium height with black eyes and black hair. He is not exactly well endowed physically, being weak and feeble in appearance. But he has a good-looking face and kindly eyes.

But that's normal him. When he gets angry his eyes narrow and his usually happy face pulls down in a frown. It is then he looks most frightening. His stance and words change, making him give of the aura of competence. He holds himself in a strained position, leading his attacks to be most horrific when they occur.

He wears a standard black kimono with the usual sandals. He elects instead to wear a scarf, one that extends around his waist, diagonally up his chest and finally around his back. The scarf around his waist is where his Zanpakto is carried.

His Zanpakto looks like a regular katana. The cross-guard is a five-pointed star and the hilt is bound in black. It has a beautiful shine to it for he looks after the weapon with almost maniacal care. If someone so much as dents his Zanpakto one can expect a butt-whooping in very short order.

His Shikai takes the form of two claws on his hands. The claws are black and extend up to his forearms. They have silvered tips from which a sickly green substance can be seen.

Personality:
On the surface he's temperate, mild-mannered and kindly. He's also very generous. The everyday Suman is a nice guy, putting others before himself and always doing his best for his squad. Some would say he doesn't have the drive to be a scientist. But one must be wary; he's a very intelligent man that knows a great deal about the spirit world and its workings.

Underneath this happy-go-lucky exterior there's a serious scientist, dedicated to the furthering of the knowledge of the Soul Society. He's determined to create new inventions and make the Soul Society a better place.

As mentioned before, he's obsessed with his Zanpakto and how good he can make it. He knows how good he is and always analyses a situation before jumping in with his zanpakto. As such, you'll rarely see him fighting without due cause, for fear of damaging his precious zanpakto. But that doesn't mean he doesn't train. Oh god no! This man spends roughly 4 hours of every day with his zanpakto, meditating and communicating with it. Not only that, he spends a further four running through all his patterns. He spends only 2 practising his Shikai and trying to attain his Bankai. He can do Bankai, something he's proud of, but his bankai doesn't work for too long; it eats up his spiritual pressure like nothing he's ever experienced.

He also fights for the rights of others, feeling that every man in the Soul Society should be worth the same as the next. Above all else, he is a lawful man. He does not let his ambitions or actions get out of hand in the eyes of the law, fearing that the captains would come down on him. Under the surface he's a very distrusting man, not letting anyone get too close to him.

As a result of this distrust, he has excellent scientific detachment when studying bodies and such. He's not heartless but he can suspend that heart to do what needs to be done. He knows when to be cruel and when to be kind.

History:
Suman grew up as a young man in Japan roughly 1000 years ago when he died. As a young man, he was entranced by the technologies and processes of the samurai. As a young man, he trained to become one. After many years of doing so, he was allowed to become a Samurai in the Lord's army. He'd always been fascinated and spent many a time with the forger and his daughter, watching them make swords.

After a few years, these two were going to get married. But, unfortunately, her life was taken. Some said it was suicide and Suman had just lost his mind. Suman knew though; as a person with high spiritual pressure during life, he was able to see the Hollow attack her.

Suman ran away from the hollow as it flew after him, opening its mouth to try and eat him too. But a shinigami came and saved Suman as he hid in the forge, the Hollow beating on the roof. Suman never saw who the Shinigami was but was eternally grateful for their timely arrival.

Then, at the age of 30, Suman did something very wrong; he disobeyed his Lord's order to kill a family who'd displeased him by not paying taxes in time. Suman went to their house that same night and ordered them to run away, before the lord sent more. Suman was caught in the house and dragged to the lord while the other samurai killed the family as ordered.

Suman spent two years in his prison cell while the Lord's son was deciding what to do to him. But Suman knew they were just playing; there was only one fate for a disobedient Samurai. Seppuku, stabbing oneself through the stomach.

And so, he walked out of the cell on the day of his execution, met face to face with the Lord, who was smiling over him with a triumphant glare. Suman looked him in the eye and told him that he would die one day too, hopefully in a very painful manner as he was about to do so.

And so, Suman took his sword and ran himself through the stomach with it. He was not a good samurai; he had no friend to chop his head off at the most painful moment. So Suman became a Ryoka in the human world, wondering around aimlessly.

Luckily, he managed to evade a great number of hollows and was finally found by a shinigami who performed a Soul Burial on him.

He found himself in the Ryoka district and new instantly what he'd do; he'd become a shinigami.

He went to Shinigami school and graduated within 2 and a half years with expertise in his chosen areas. He was given his zanpakto and admitted to the 13 Squad guards, in the 3rd Squad. He soon found he did not like the 3rd Squad and so asked for a transfer to the 12th Squad. After enduring more training to be a scientist, he was allowed to become a member of the 12th squad, scientific division.

His advancement through the ranks was slow, but he kept up his determination. He was over the moon when in a mission, he could finally utter those words and bring forth his Zanpakto. With a cry of "Demolish, Ryukurai!" He clawed the hollow apart with impressive Riatsu to spare. He was clapped by his team as he beheld the claw on his hands in wonder. He'd heard about Shikai, but never for one second thought he'd attain it. From then on, he vowed to attain Bankai, a dream of his.

And so, with many many days and nights of training, he finally was able to achieve his bankai. But it was so strong that he only got a glimpse before it absorbed his spiritual pressure. He woke up in the 4th barracks days later, suddenly shouting "I can do it!" before flopping down on the bed and falling asleep again.

When he returned to service, his spiritual pressure was the thing he worked on. He trained until small particles of dust rose into the air with the force of it. He was nothing compared to a captain but he could sustain his bankai for more than a few seconds. To this day, he is only able to obtain it for a few seconds. He knows what it looks like now and wants to see it out for the whole duration of a fight.

And so, he is a lieutenant with very high potential, considering the powers of his Shikai and the even greater of his Bankai. But the trade off is, he spent so much time on his zanpakto that he can do little kido. Luckily, he rarely needs to resort to such measures; his sword is powerful enough. Although, if he uses his sword he cannot use Kido; the energy his sword takes is incredible.

Currently, he is fighting hollows and getting rid of a mountain of paperwork, a mug of tea in one hand a pen in the other. Foes are soon taught to fear him when he utters those fatal words; "Demolish...Ryukurai."

Sumen wears the classic school uniform of anime. She wears a black jacket with the AHS logo on it. It's cut rather ineptly at the seems and has a jagged line of cloth ending at her torso. She has violet eyes and black hair that falls to her waist in pony tails. Her face is kind but her eyes are like diamonds. And not in a good way. She's imposing and indomitable in a room thanks to her eyes that look like they could melt steel. He eyes are the most scary thing about her.

On her bottom half she wears a short skirt that reveals about an inch of skin before disappearing into thigh-high socks. On her feet she wears a pair of black pumps for the sake of comfort. She will NEVER be caught wearing heels or anything impractical. She's just not that kind of girl.

She also wears a barrette in the colour of black. She sets the whole thing off nicely by the fact that she looks very nice as far as her physical body goes. She's not perfect but she's nice-looking. Her nose could be a bit bigger and her eyes a little less...hawk-like. Again, her eyes are very, very hard to stare into. They're kinda unsettling. She has that look of someone who is eternally unpleasant, her mouth always down turned slightly and her eyebrows contracted. She's got the look of someone instantly repulsive. That kind of person that you avoid on the streets at night.

Personality:
Appearances CAN be deceiving although in the case of Sumen Omai...No. She is exactly as her appearance would tell you: She's a very impertinent person that likes to be blunt and honest about everything. There'll be no sugaring of the pill with this girl.

She is also a very world-wary person, being cynical and spiteful in most aspects of life. She's the type of person to look at a dying person and shrug with the thought of 'it happens every day'. She's not uncaring but she's a realist in most aspects. She is not a religious person in any way shape or form. She's the most Atheist of the Atheists. She doesn't believe in anything her senses have not told her. She doesn't openly challenge someone's beliefs unless they try to foist them upon her.

She is a nice person to those who are not judgemental of her. She will always respond courteously and with tact but that's as far as it goes. She's not an anti-social person but an asocial person, preferring not to talk to others but will talk if she has to. Not the type to see going to parties or concerts. Give her a book and she'll read it any day. A very complex person but overall nice. She doesn't smile all that often. Instead she lets her actions dictate her emotions to others. That's why one can never quite see what's coming next with her.

Nutty Sumen!
Basically Sumen's other personality except much more violent, much more giggly and very, very sinister. This mind set she has is what makes her a very dangerous foe in battle. She can change from her normal personality to this one within seconds of the fight beginning.

This Sumen resents being kept inside the other Sumen's mind and will do anything to break out of it's confinement. It's kept in the rather strong and rather cliché prison in a deep hole in her mind. There's a big locked door in her head that Sumen unlocks and sets her free.

Evil Sumen, for want of a better term, is a very one-tracked person. She has the enemy in her sights and finishes them for Sumen. Evil Sumen has a rather sub-servant attitude to her other half and obeys her without question. That doesn't stop her dreaming however...

Dark Sumen:

Yes, my favourite theme is back with her being able to, under control, become an insane monster. Think of it like having a split personality only one is firmly in control of the other. It's Korya's Evil Side if he'd managed to beat it completely.

Her insanity move is powerful only because it changes her perspective (and her looks up to a certain extent). She will instantaneously become this megalomaniac fighter girl with an extremely aggressive style. Her kicks are much more frequent when this is on the loose.

However, this move cannot be sustained for long as it takes extraordinary hate on her part to bring it out. Her rage twists her mind, her body and her perspectives on life.

Her body changes in two ways: Her eye-whites go black and her violet eyes go a darker shade. Her face becomes much more lined and her teeth all become sharp points. Her legs also have some odd-looking grieves (Leg versions of gauntlets.) on them. They are not the typical spiked monstrosities but are still scary anyway. The grieves go up to her thighs and end in clawed feet. The grieves are made of a light high-carbon steel. These do affect her speed slightly but increase the offensive power of her kicks. A trade-off. Think of her as the female version of Dark Korya.

Her control in this ability is severely limited. She can barely hold the other form for eleven seconds before her Insane version starts to attack her mind. She is also prone to sporadic and often violent outbursts after using this ability. She even has had the power sealed to weaken it.

SUPER KICK!
Her super kick is more of a style than a power. Her leg muscles are essentially loaded springs that can bunch up and pull out with the force of a cricket bat heading for someone's skull. For a demonstration of how much her kicks would hurt:

She is a master of Tae Kwon Do and Ninjitsu and Kung Fu. She's extremely young to know so many but her dad was so worried about her well being that he sent her to all three senseis all in one week every week since she was four. He mastery of the kick is well known in the family for knocking someone out in one swing.

And she's mercilessly fast. About as fast as the guy in the video. She can pull of combos in quick succession and has been known to mutilate someone within seconds of their fight beginning.

Against the average Joe (No knowledge of martial arts, about 6ft weighs 150lbs or so) she can win within two minutes after kicking specific points on his body. She knows where to disable the enemy and always aims there first. Her only flaw in this skill is that she's weak at punching. She cannot punch well at all and will always use her legs to attack whether it's close or long range. Her skills cannot compensate for her inability to land an effective blow with her hands. She just can't get enough force behind it.

Also, her kicking power is not always a one-hit KO (Although sometimes it can be). Her kicks will always hurt and be as fast as the clappers but she will not knock someone out easily.

She has a lot of skills with her fighting to end the fight quickly. Fighting takes a toll upon her thanks to her first power. For some reason it's less effective when she's the one dolling out the misery.

Lawl, I don't really think there are any captain spots open, but I guess you can talk with some captains and ask em if you can be their Lt. Talk with Shinjou if you wanna be apart of the research department.

OK! Sounds like a plan. I'll get to work right away then!

EDIT: A thought just occurred to me;
Is the character itself OK, even if the position itself isn't? It's just that I'm not too fussy about the position he has except for the fact he's interested in science. So, basically, any lieutenant or Captain position going I've put this dude forward for. At least as a captain he can actually USE his bankai xD
